The Level Up Design Podcast
Episode 07: Jena Nesbitt

Andrew Stern

Welcome to Level 7 of the Podcast! This episode I interview Jena Nesbitt.
She’s a trend forecasting specialist with a focus on fashion. We’ll discuss the ups and downs of predicting trends, how “fast fashion” has surpassed light speed, and how a never-ending wave of new trends is already impacting your work as a designer.

Let me finish that thought: When a seamstress sews in extra denim into the crotch of jeans that are wearing out, they use a zig zag pattern from a machine to sew it into place. At the same time, there are new jeans that use that same zig zag pattern to simulate genuinely worn-in high-end jeans.
